I WAS reading about ‘roadworks about to cause gridlock’ in the World and thought about the emergency services getting around Runcorn.
How about first responders on motorbikes with vital life saving equipment on board? Surely the cost could be reimbursed from the Mersey Gateway project.
Name and address supplied
Mersey Gateway response:
The Mersey Gateway team works with agencies and emergency services to ensure roadworks and diversions are managed and sited.
Like motorists, emergency services use the diversions that are in place and emergency services vehicles are always given priority use of the road.
Where possible, an emergency route through Mersey Gateway’s traffic management may be provided.
This will have been communicated to the emergency services.
