After reading the comments in this week’s World about Widnes being the ‘preferred child’ I would like to point out that yes, Widnes had the nice shiny retail park, and yes they got the ice rink and leisure park, but we in Runcorn have got a brand new Poundland, and they have painted the multi-storey! So swings and roundabouts eh? Look on the bright-side, in a few years we will get to pay on the toll road to visit all the investments that Widn... sorry, I mean ‘Halton’ Council has poured into the borough!
