I WOULD like everyone to know about a Widnes man who not only found my wallet and wedding ring but went out of his way to return them to me.

After a trip to the gym, I stupidly put my wallet, which contained my ring, on the roof of my car in the car park at Halewood Leisure Centre.

Our baby boy suddenly started crying so we bundled ourselves into the car and drove off hoping he’d go to sleep.

It was only when we pulled onto the dual carriageway near Halewood RSPCA that we heard something fly off the roof and land in the road behind us.

I realised it was my wallet. By the time we went back, the wallet was gone and a few store cards were scattered in the road.

When we came home there was a note from our neighbour saying that a man had called round with my wallet and left it with them.

The man saw my wallet in the road and pulled over to rescue it from the wheels of all the cars. He’d found a prescription for my kids which had our address on it.

He could have just handed it in to the police and washed his hands of it but instead he drove 30 minutes to my home to return it in person, which I think is a really decent thing to do. It’s nice to know there are decent people out there who are not only honest but will go out of their way to help others.
