June September 2007: Public consultation
November 2007: Consultation results published
Early 2008: Planning application submitted
Spring 2008: Consultation on the planning application
Summer 2008: Halton Council gives formal response to the planning application
Winter 2008: Public inquiry likely
Late 2009: Outcome of public inquiry announced
2010: Tenders invited from companies to build and operate the Mersey Gateway
2011: Successful franchisee appointed and construction stars
2014: Mersey Gateway opens
