Il Divo and Katherine Jenkins are teaming up for the first time for an evening of classical music.

The operatic vocal quartet and the Welsh opera star are set to captivate Manchester Arena on Tuesday, April 16. While they have both crossed paths at musical events and TV shows, they have never actually taken to the stage together.

To mark the occasion, the Guardian has teamed up with SJM Concerts to promote its competition to give away two pairs of tickets for the Manchester show. With more than 30 million album sales between them, Il Divo and Jenkins have experienced a swift rise to fame since their recording debuts in 2004. Both artists will perform with a full orchestra, adding their own classical twist to popular songs and duet together.

Sebastien Izambard, from Il Divo, said: “We’ve long been friends with Katherine and as we looked to stage a tour around our greatest hits release, we thought what better way to approach it than to offer our fans the ultimate evening of classical crossover music by inviting Katherine to perform.”

Jenkins added: “I’ve known the boys for such a long a time, so it’s great to finally be working on such an exciting project together.”

To enter the competition, simply answer the question: In what year did Il Divo and Katherine Jenkins have their recording debut?

Send your answers along with your name, address and phone number before 5pm on Tuesday, April 9, after which a winner will be selected at random.
