THERE was success in the England Boxing National Youth Championships for a former Runcorn Amateur Boxing Club junior.
Kai Cairns, 16, who lives in Runcorn, now competes for Phoenix Fire Boxing Club in Warrington and he became their latest national champion at the weekend.
The apprentice engineer won both of his bouts to secure the title, defeating Charlie Royle of Lancashire School of Boxing via a third-round stoppage on Saturday.

And then on Sunday he came out on the right side of a 3-2 split points decision in a very competitive contest against two-time national champion and previously undefeated Albie Dowell of Hockley Boxing Club in Essex.
Kai's efforts kept up the Phoenix Fire run of a boxer from the club appearing in a national final for each of the past 22 years
