WIDNES Vikings booked their place in the Betfred Championship play-offs thanks to returning to winning ways in the final game of the regular season.
Allan Coleman's side bagged a 26-24 win at Barrow Raiders yesterday to clinch fifth place, which hands them a place in the eliminator play-off at fourth-placed York Knights on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
Jack Owens scored two of Vikings' tries, with Rhodri Lloyd, Ryan Lannon and Mike Butt also touching down, while Tom Gilmore kicked three goals.
It was Vikings' 14th win from 26 games this season, ending their three-match losing run.
In their previous meetings with York, they won 22-18 away on June 2 and lost 12-6 at home on September 8.
