NOTHING can replicate the feeling of playing in a Super League game.

It is something Warrington Wolves have not done for over a fortnight and after the drama of yesterday, it looked as if they may have had to wait a while longer.

After Salford Red Devils forfeited Friday’s scheduled fixture, however, Huddersfield Giants stepped into the breach to provide The Wire with some opposition as their Round 21 fixture was brought forward.

Steve Price’s side also saw Monday’s trip to Catalans Dragons cancelled after a cluster of Covid-19 cases were reported by the French side, so how have the Wire squad been staying sharp?

“We have tried to use it to our advantage in the tough circumstances,” Price said of the slightly extended break.

“We’ve had the opportunity to get a fair bit of block training and scrimmage sessions as well.

“We were all gutted to not play but we had some really high-intensity sessions and have got some good work into the boys.

“We can’t wait for Friday now.”
