THE kick-off of tonight’s fixture between Huddersfield Giants and Hull KR at the John Smith’s Stadium has been put back to 7pm after four positive tests at the Huddersfield club.

The test results were received this morning, and required conversations with Public Health England and a thorough investigation of the situation to ensure the safety of all involved, leading to the decision to put back the kick-off from 5.30pm as originally scheduled.

None of the four positive tests came from players involved in last week’s fixture.

Two were for players in rehabilitation after injury, and the other two were for non-players who have not been in contact with the playing group.

The club are awaiting the result of the retest of one more player, who has been instructed to self-isolate until those results are received.

In total across the 11 Betfred Super League clubs and supporting officials this week, there have been 578 tests for Covid-19, with 574 negative results, and the four positives at Huddersfield.
