IAN Alexander landed more than double the weight of fish as his nearest rival to win the Newton-le-Willows Anglers Association Ron Hassall Trophy.

The Burts Baits ace hauled in almost 15lbs of silver fish and perch on perch and maggot to pull away from St Helens duo Graham Sixsmith and Tony Smith on peg 98 on the upper pound of the Sankey Canal.
