Albion's players are “disappointed” to be in the Premier League bottom six.
Graham Potter says his players believe they could have more points than the current 36.
But they can enjoy a high point by adding to that tally when Liverpool visit tomorrow.
The Seagulls are not considering themselves safe, despite opening a nine-point lead over 18th place with five games go go.
Head coach Potter said of his players: “They are disappointed with the fact we’re in this situation.
“They probably feel we could have picked up a few more points and not been where we are.
“We’re all human in that regard. We feel that we’re a bit disappointed with that but they haven’t felt sorry for themselves.”
The spotlight falls on Watford and bottom team Norwich City today as they meet at Vicarage Road (6pm).
Daryl Janmaat, Gerard Deulofeu (both knee) and Isaac Success (Achilles) remain sidelined for Watford.
Norwich will be without midfielder Todd Cantwell due to a hamstring strain. Boss Daniel Farke hopes he will be fit in time for Saturday’s home game against West Ham and will make late decisions on Kenny McLean (ankle) and Alex Tettey (knee).
