HALTON Swim Club have started off 2020 on fire with some fantastic results at the Cheshire Championships staged over four weekends in Macclesfield.

It was a case of medals galore in both individual and team events.

Results:

Gold medals: Sophie Buckley, Josh Howard-Hughes, Sam Hyland, Reuben Sumner, 200m medley team 15/16 yrs mixed, men's 200m free 13/14 yrs, men's 200m medley 13/14 years.

Silver medals: Reuben Sumner, Joel Sumner, Sophie Buckley, Josh Howard Hughes, Sam Hyland, team mixed 15/15 yrs free, men's team 200m free.

Bronze medals: Sam Hyland, Reuben Sumner, Josh Howard-Hughes, Libby Harrison and MacKinley Houghton.

The club are also proud of those swimmers who finished outside of the medals, not only for qualifying for the event and representing the club but for achieving many personal best times.

These swimmers are Cerys Neil, Ben Clayton, Sam Shurie, Claudio Mecklenberg, Alfie Mather, Leah Galligan, Jess Connolly, Gabriella Houghton, Beth Howard-Hughes, Natasha Molyneux and Olivia Hyland.

In order to compete in the event, swimmers had to have achieved certain times in all events.
