ROB Findlay has been chosen as the new vice-chairman of Runcorn Linnets by the club's Trust Board.

He succeeds Jon Urquhart, who resigned from the position and the board last month.

Also commercial manager at Linnets, Rob was recently co-opted on to the board.

Rob, who is employed in the banking industry, said of his new role:

"It is a privilege to have been voted in by the board as vice- chairman.

"I can assure all our members and supporters that I will do my utmost to make a success of the role and to help take the club forward.

"I think people know that I am very approachable and I amp always available to speak to fans should they have any concerns, queries or ideas."

Chairman Mike Bignall said of the appointment:

"Rob has already made a big impact at the club, securing a number of new sponsorship deals through his commercial work.

"But apart from that, he has the personality and all the right qualities to make a success of his new role.

"When Rob expressed an interest in the vice-chairmanship, the board felt he was the perfect choice."

Linnets placed on record its appreciation of Jon Urquhart's hard work as a board member and as vice-chairman.

Their thanks went to Board member, Paul Eastup for acting as interim vice-chairman.
