AN 'exceptional' result earned Brookvale Primary School cricket team a place in the final of a Runcorn competition.
The group of year five and six players from the Runcorn-based school faced Hillview in the semi-finals last Wednesday before advancing to the final, beating an experienced Farnworth 273-236.
The team has now advanced to the county championship in Warrington on July 12.
Captain Logan Robinson and Omarion Joe were the star players.
The group's other exceptional players were Eneas Gumbs, Oliver Holden, Daniel Grogan, Ethan Farrington, Benjamin Adkins, Jack Miller, Thomas and Antony Crowe.
A school spokeswoman said: "It was a mixed tournament. The children were well behaved and represented our school exceptionally well.
"They played three games in the early stages and won 270-232. 270-212 and 287-218. There were some very high scores.
"The boys fielded well and bowled well, avoiding wides so keep the scores of the opponents to a minimum."
