SAINTS prop Alex Walmsley has been given the all clear to resume playing for the new season.

He saw his surgeon on Friday, and the scan results mean he now fully recovered nine months after breaking a bone in his neck against Warrington.

The England prop has been training well since recovering from the surgery, but just needed the final all clear to play.

Announcing the news on his Instagram post Walmsley said: "Nine months on from breaking my neck, on Friday I got cleared.

"I can honestly say this has been the toughest journey I have ever been on and I’m so grateful to be able to put it to bed and carry on with my career.

"Bring on 2019 and the new season...I can’t wait."
