BEN McWilliams plundered a hat-trick as Greenalls PSO earned cross-town bragging rights on Saturday.

The forward’s treble was the highlight of a 4-1 win over Daten at Charnock Road – a win which lifted Greens above the Atoms in the Cheshire League Premier Division table.

McWilliams broke the deadlock by lashing Ellis Houghton’s low cross into the top corner before Tom Kirkpatrick’s inch-perfect free kick doubled their lead.

Greens scored twice more in a dominant first half, with McWilliams heading home Kirkpatrick’s corner before converting Tom Lees’ cross to complete his hat-trick.

Daten were shellshocked but provided more of a threat after the break as Jack Nolan pulled a goal back, but Greens were well worthy of the three points.

Greenalls have no fixture on Saturday, while Daten will try to bounce back when they welcome Whaley Bridge Athletic to Charnock Road.

Elsewhere, Eagle Sports’ chance to keep pace with the Premier Division’s pace-setters was lost to the weather, with a waterlogged Thornton Road pitch putting paid to their home game against Congleton Vale.

They host Middlewich Town – one of the sides above them – on Saturday.

In League One, Moore United emerged on the right side of a seven-goal thriller as they beat Ford Motors 4-3, with goals coming from Jordan Rudge, Tom Smith, Adam Bugan and Ash Chester.
