Series winners in Warrington Athletics Club Schools Cross Country

Eva Jha, Jack Marwood, Alice Nicholson, Max Ryder, Melissa Ince, Erik Marshall and Rebecca Nixon collected the individual titles across the age groups after Saturday's third and final set of races at Walton Gardens.

St Monica's Catholic Primary School, Ravenbank Community Primary School, Bridgewater High, Beamont Collegiate Academy and Great Sankey High got among the team prizes.

Jha's success for St Philip Westbrook C of E Primary School came on the back of her first win in this year's league on Saturday, edging out Bradshaw County Primary School's Esme Heavey into second place overall in the primary school girls' competition with six points to seven.

Nia Wharton from St Peter’s Catholic Primary School finished third on 12 points.

Eva Karalius from Broomfields Junior School, who had been leading overall after the first two races, was unable to finish due to ill health.

Jha had finished second and third in the previous races at Walton Gardens on October 8 and November 17.

St Monica’s won the Suzanne Rigg Trophy for the overall team event, with the score of 150 points beating St Peter’s (210 points) and Ravenbank (256pts).

Marwood took the overall primary school boys' title on the back of his clean sweep of wins in the series.

The Ravenbank youngster finished on three points, with Tyreece Swinton from Broomfields second on six points and Jacob Pryor from St Peter's third with 11.

In the overall team event Ravenbank retained the Chris Vose Trophy with 169 points.

Their closest rivals were second-placed St Monica’s (227pts) and Broomfields (232pts).

Nicholson was another dominant athlete throughout the competition, with Saturday's third win in the year seven girls' competition clinching her the overall title with three points.

Harriet Bell from Bridgewater was second with seven points, while Corin Smith from Lymm High School was third with eight.

Bridgewater won the overall title with 76 points, finishing in front of Great Sankey and Beamont.

Ryder was rewarded for his consistency as he clinched the year seven boys' title for Lymm High School on the back of his third-place at the weekend.

Saturday's third place matched his feats from the previous two outings and placed him on nine points, finishing two points ahead of Bridgewater's Ben Norman. Great Sankey's Anthony Madew was a further place behind on 12.

Another to achieve three successive wins en route to series victory was Culcheth High School's Ince in the year eight and nine girls' competition.

Closest to her three points was second-placed Molly Wormald from Great Sankey on eight points and Emily Entwistle from Bridgewater on nine.

Great Sankey won the overall team title on 73 points, ahead of Bridgewater and Beamont.

Lymm High School's Marshall sealed the year eight and nine boys' crown after again being in charge on Saturday.

His three points - the result of three consecutive wins in the series - led him home ahead of second-placed Ben Pucill from Great Sankey on seven points and Beamont's Josh Peers on 14.

Beamont took the team title ahead of Bridgewater and Great Sankey.

Rebecca Nixon, continuing her comeback from injury, achieved her second win of the series at the weekend to bag the title in the year 10 and 11 girls' bracket with four points.

Giving chase in the overall reckoning were Great Sankey pair Rebecca Hardwick on nine points and Faye Humphreys on 12, who helped to seal the team title for their school.
