WIDNES teams tasted success at the Cheshire Schools Table Tennis Team event held at the Halton Table Tennis Centre, Stobart Stadium, Widnes last week.
The event included teams from Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire East, Halton and Warrington.
In the under 11 Primary Schools Boys and Girls events there was double success for St Bede's Catholic Junior School, Widnes.
The Boys A team of Sam Davies, Michael Downey, Douglas Harry and Jacob Potter beat their B team of Diego FC, Jack Egerton, Euan Ward and Ben Barraclough 8-0.
Meanwhile the Girls team of Jessica Morris, Edie McGuiness, Beth Rolt and Rosie Ellis beat St Michael'sWidnes team of Natasha Okonska, Laura Murphy, Annaliese Hignet and Libby Coffey 8-0.
Anna Hartley, Rachel Lane,Abigail Redman and Poppy Jenkins of Wade Deacon High,Widnes team of beat Saints Peter & Paul Widnes 6-2 in the under 13s final
Wade Deacon's Niamh Scarborough, Ruby Bennett, Chloe Allen and India Odley received a walkover in the under 16s Girls final.
Saints Peter & Paul's team of Liam Bibby, Liam Murphy, Joe Davies and James Bowman beat Sandbach School 'A' team in the Under 16 final 6-2 in another tight match
The winning team in each age group now goes forward to represent Cheshire Schools at the Regional Zone Finals at Blackburn in January. The individual Cheshire Schools will take place on 5 February 2019 at Halton TT Centre.
