BODENE Thompson – released by The Wire following Saturday's Super League Grand Final – has found a new club.
The second rower will continue his career with Toronto Wolfpack as they aim for promotion to Super League.
Thompson was one of six new signings announced by the Canadian club yesterday, with the others being long-serving St Helens forward Jon Wilkin, Widnes pair Joe Mellor and Tom Olbison, Castleford prop Gadwin Springer and Cronulla's Samoan international centre Ricky Leutele.
Having played in the NRL for Wests Tigers, Gold Coast Titans and New Zealand Warriors, Thompson came to England to sign for Leigh Centurions ahead of the 2018 campaign.
However, once the Centurions' hopes of promotion from the Championship ended, the 30-year-old signed a short-term deal with The Wire and made seven appearances for the club, including starts in both the Super League semi-final and Grand Final.
