A VISIT to 10-time English champions Leicester Tigers is proving to be inspirational for Widnes Rugby Club's under 13s girls team.
The youngsters took part in a Tigers matchday coaching clinic and then joined a 23,000-strong crowd for the European Champions Cup fixture against Munster Rugby at Welford Road.
Steve Soule, a coach at Widnes, said: “The coaching clinic was absolutely brilliant and we had a cracking day.
“We took our under 13s girls, they’ve just started playing, and this has made them want to play more rugby.
“It was a brilliant day and to watch a big European game like that was just great for them.”
The matchday coaching clinics allow teams to work with Tigers coaches to develop their individual and team skills, as well as taking tips and techniques with them to work on in the rest of the season.
The Widnes players also had an opportunity to quiz Tigers development player Fred Tuilagi about life in professional rugby.
