VIKINGS hooker Lloyd White's hopes of captaining his country have been dashed by injury.
He has been forced to withdraw from the Wales squad for the European Championships due to a knee injury.
White, who has 12 caps for Wales, had been named as captain of his national side prior to the tournament though that honour will now go to Salford-bound prop Craig Kopczak.
Also in the Wales squad is forward Phil Joseph, who has spent the past three seasons with the Vikings but has signed for Salford for 2016.
Wales kick-off their European Championship campaign against Scotland in Wrexham on Friday night, before taking on France (October 30) and Ireland (November 7).
