DENIS Betts says there is no point moping over injuries and the quick turnaround to the ‘derby’ duel at Warrington Wolves tonight, Thursday, kick off 8pm.

A second dislocated shoulder of the season for former Wigan centre Stefan Marsh in Sunday’s home loss to Castleford leaves coach Denis Betts working with a squad further down to its bare bones.

“We also picked up a couple of bangs, bumps and bruises across the team, and to make matters worse, we’ve lost Stefan for the rest of the season.

“Having one of the smallest squads in the competition and being expected to play on Sunday and then back up the following Thursday against one of the best teams in Super League is a big ask.

“We can’t hide away though and we know what we need to do.

“Rather than sit there and feel sorry for ourselves, we’ve just got to get back up, dust ourselves down, get on with it and move forward.”

Wolves also have injury problems, with internationals Ryan Atkins, Lee Briers, Richie Myler and Adrian Morley sidelined.

But Tony Smith has a galaxy of riches at his disposal, losing the first-choice half backs means fomer NRL number seven Michael Monaghan and England Knights utility Stefan Ratchford can step in.
