Listeners and volunteers at Epsom and Ewell Talking Newspaper (EETN) were delighted to receive a grant of £1,550 from Toyota GB.

The Newspaper's Chairman Judy Sarssam said: "In order to continue with our free audio service, which necessitates renewal of recording equipment plus memory sticks and boom boxes for our listeners, we rely heavily on kind donations. We are more than delighted with the response to our application."

The 45- year old charity records weekly local news and a magazine for blind and partially sighted people in the borough.

When the Chairman and volunteers heard about Toyota’s Fund for a Better Tomorrow, which is an ongoing programme of small grants designed to help local charities and projects, they were encouraged to submit an application.

John Ryan and Hannah Davies from the specialist Corporate Social Responsibility team at Toyota GB, arrived at the small recording studio in time to see the newspaper in action.

Presenting the cheque to Judy Sarssam, Mr Ryan said: "We are pleased to be here and happy that Toyota GB is able to help out with this small grant. We’re always looking for charities that make a difference in the community and this one certainly does."
