A FINES surgery is being held for people who have fallen behind with fines imposed by magistrates’ courts.

It takes place tomorrow, Monday, March 28, from 10am to 4pm at Stobart Stadium in Lowerhouse Lane, Widnes.

Halton Council has teamed up with Her Majesty’s Court Service to encourage people who face financial difficulties to come forward.

For those who are willing to pay but have problems keeping up with the payments, staff will be on help to discuss options.

A HMCS spokesman said: “For those who don’t want to pay, the message is clear. Enforcement tactics such as the recent Operation Crackdown campaign, which targeted fine dodgers and recovered £100,000 in fines, are ongoing.

“Your fine won’t go away. Come along and help to get back on track.”
