A TARDIS and dalek invaded Halton Lea Library on Saturday as enthusiasts staged a Dr Who day.
Children who came dressed as aliens won prizes during the fun filled morning.
Almost 1,000 visitors attended the event.
Janette Fleming, Halton Council's reader development officer, said:"It was great to see the library packed with so many families.
"The new Halton Lea Library lends itself to events like this.
"It is always nice when you can dispel the myth around libraries being stuffy and old fashioned.
"In this time of financial uncertainty, local libraries are becoming important to the community as everything we offer is free."
All sorts of monsters from the TV series were lurking behind books including The Ood and Cybershade.
Youngsters were able to have their photographs taken with the famous characters or have their faces painted.
