Vesta Education opens new specialist centre in Widnes

Vesta Education, based at Brendan House on Widnes Road in Halton, offers a nurturing environment for students aged 11 to 17 who find it difficult to access traditional education.

The setting supports young people who are electively home educated, receive Education Otherwise Than at School (EOTAS), experience emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), are care-experienced, or have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Rachael Russell, founding director of Vesta Education, said: "We want Vesta to be a place where young people feel understood, valued and able to succeed.

"Every young person deserves an education that works for them, and we are passionate about creating an environment where they can learn, grow and belong."

With more than 20 years of experience in education, Ms Russell founded Vesta to combine education, therapeutic support, and wellbeing in a single setting.

The centre works closely with families, schools, and the local authority to ensure a joined-up approach for each student.

Young people are supported by a team of teachers, therapists, and other professionals in a small group setting.

This allows for personalised support to help build confidence, develop skills, and foster a sense of belonging.

Vesta Education offers GCSE and Functional Skills support, as well as creative learning opportunities, reintegration support, and a strong focus on wellbeing.

The centre has also launched a new four-week programme for young people in Years 7 to 9 who are electively home educated.

Starting on Tuesday, September 15, the programme provides education in a supportive, small-group environment to help students gain confidence and develop positive relationships with education.
