WIDNES Shopping Park was evacuated last night, Wednesday, following a fire.
Crews were called to the incident off Gerrard Street at around 6.25pm.
They received reports of smoke in a commercial premises.
A fire was discovered within the premises, which was out on arrival, and the building was fully evacuated, with all persons accounted for.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots, and a high-pressure fan was then used to ventilate the premises.
“Police were also in attendance, as this is believed to have been started deliberately.”
Two fire engines from Widnes and Penketh attended.
