POLICE have named 12 suspects charged following a series of dawn raids over alleged large-scale drug supply and money laundering.
Cheshire Police said that the operation was part of its ongoing crackdown on serious and organised crime.
Codenamed Operation Clocked, the force said that the raids were the culmination of a complex and lengthy investigation by its serious and organised crime unit.
The probe was in relation to an alleged organised crime group suspected of being involved in money laundering and the widespread supply of illegal drugs throughout the north west.
During the warrants, 11 men and one woman were arrested, including a 32-year-old man at an address on Foxley Heath in Widnes.
A 22-year-old man was also arrested at a property on The Glebe in Runcorn, as well as a 26-year-old man at an address on Castle Rise in Runcorn.
In an update today, Thursday, Cheshire Police has confirmed that its serious and organised crime unit has now charged 12 people, including four men from Runcorn and one from Widnes.
The following defendants have been charged:
- Anthony Mulvaney, aged 33 and of no fixed abode but of Widnes – charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs
- Christopher Crossland, aged 34 and of Blyth Close, Runcorn – charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs
- Scott Fell, aged 22 and of The Glebe, Runcorn – charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs and possession of criminal property
- Jack Storey, aged 32 and of Stanley Street, Runcorn – charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs
- Callum Pope, aged 26 and of Castle Rise, Runcorn – charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs
- Martin Rimmer, aged 58 and of Haydn Road, Liverpool – charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs and possession of criminal property
- Kyle Ashcroft, aged 38 and of Ridgeway Drive, Lydiate, Merseyside – charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs, possession of criminal property, and concealing criminal property
- Callum Ashcroft, aged 33 and of Quarry Way, Huyton – charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs and possession of criminal property
- Scott Ryan, aged 38 and of Hartsbourne Avenue, Liverpool – charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs, possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs, and possession of criminal property
- Wade Goudie, aged 26 and of Quarry Way, Huyton – charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs and possession of criminal property
- Sean Meadows, aged 37 and of Alnwick Drive, Ellesmere Port – charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs
- Nicole Archibald, aged 24 and of Whinsmoor Drive, Carlisle – charged with conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs
All 12 defendants have been remanded in custody to appear before Chester Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday.
In a statement yesterday, DS Sophie Davies, who led the operation, said: “The strike action follows a lengthy investigation into an organised crime group suspected of facilitating the supply and transportation of class A and B drugs from Merseyside into Cheshire.
“Illegal drugs have a devastating impact on our communities and, by disrupting supply chains and removing those responsible from our streets, we are helping to break the cycle of serious and organised crime and make Cheshire a safer place for everyone.
“The warrants send a clear message that criminality does not stop at county borders.
“No matter where you are based, if you come into Cheshire to deal drugs, we will use every power available to ensure that you are brought before the courts.
