A RUNCORN home care service is celebrating success after one of its teams was named a national award winner.

Amore Complex Care was honoured with the positive behaviour support award at the National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards.

The award recognises excellence in delivering person-centred support that improves the lives of people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.

The judging panel praised the service improvement team’s commitment to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Panellists said: “Their passion for excellence is evident in everything they do, from their proactive approach to positive behaviour support to their dedication to achieving the best possible outcomes for the people they support.

“The team consistently reflects on practice, embraces learning opportunities, and seeks innovative ways to enhance the quality of care.

“They demonstrate strong leadership, collaboration, and professionalism, creating a culture of continuous improvement."

Through its positive behaviour support approach, Amore has supported people to become more independent, access education, and achieve goals that may once have seemed out of reach.

Jasmine Wood, positive behaviour support lead at Amore, said: "At the heart of positive behaviour support is understanding what a person is communicating and working alongside them to achieve the life they want to live.

“We are proud of the measurable outcomes we have achieved, but the real success is seeing people become more independent, strengthen relationships, access their communities, and enjoy new opportunities.

“This award reflects the dedication of our support teams and the individuals and families we work with every day."

The winning submission showcased how Amore’s service improvement team works alongside individuals, families, support teams, and professionals.
