A KITCHEN fitter who works in Widnes has been named as one of the best in the UK.
Andy Snelson, who lives in Burtonwood, started his career as an apprentice in 1996 before going on to become a kitchen fitter in 2003.
The 46-year-old runs his own company called That Kitchen Fitter from Burtonwood and works across Warrington, St Helens, Newton-le-Willows and Widnes.
Now, Andy has been named as a national finalist for Kitchen Fitter of the Year at the BIFIS Awards 2026.
“It feels like a massive achievement,” he said.
“I’ve spent nearly three decades doing my best for my customers, so to have that recognised at a national level is something I’m incredibly proud of.”
“I received an email with the news and I have to admit it took a moment for it to sink in.
“I wasn’t expecting to make it through to the final, so it was a great surprise.”
The winner will be announced in Birmingham on June 23, with judging carried out by a panel of leaders, senior figures and technical specialists.
The awards are set to be part of Installer Show 2026, which is one of the UK’s largest trade events.
Not only has Andy been named as a finalist for an award, but he’s also been asked to become an ambassador at the event this year.
“On top of the award nomination, I’ve also been invited back as an ambassador for the Kitchen Fitter Arena at InstallerSHOW 2026, where I’ll be taking to the stage across all three days,” he said.
“To be asked back in that capacity, after my single 30-minute talk there last year is something, I don’t take for granted.”
