TWO inspiring friends have taken on the major challenge of running three marathons in three weeks to raise money for a mental health charity close to their hearts.
Sadie Shingler, from Orford, and Zoe Maloney, from Runcorn, took on the immense challenge last month in April.
The pair hope to raise as much money as possible for Mind charity and spread awareness of how running can be a huge help for those battling mental health.
On their Go Fund Me page, Sadie, 37, and Zoe, 26, opened up about what has compelled them to take on such a gruelling challenge.
They said: "We both have personal experience living with anxiety and depression, and we know how important it is to talk openly about mental health.
"For us, running has been a huge part of our own journeys.
"It’s one of the few times our minds feel clear — we’re simply focused on putting one foot in front of the other, and that sense of accomplishment when we cross the finish line is truly unmatched.
"That’s why we’re so passionate about supporting Mind, who do incredible work helping people access support and breaking down the stigma around mental health."
Sadie and Zoe ran the Brighton Marathon first on April 12, followed by the Manchester Marathon on April 19 and finally a local marathon on April 26.
"It was both mentally and physically challenging but we kept the cause in mind throughout," Zoe said, recalling how all three events went.

"Manchester was the most challenging especially with it being a hot day and my body felt tired."
On the funding page, the two friends highlighted the importance of checking in on people, as they emphasised the great work done by Mind.
"It’s often said that it’s the people who look the happiest that can be struggling the most — and that’s why it’s so important to keep checking in on those around us and to normalise conversations about how we really feel," the said.
So far the pair have exceeded their fundraising goal, raising more than £1,800 for the charity so far.
