A NEW sponsorship deal has delivered fresh support to a cricket club.
Widnes Cricket Club has received support from merseyflow to supply three new cricket pitch covers for the ground.
The sponsorship, part of merseyflow’s wider community support programme, will further strengthen the club’s facilities.
Neil Conway, chief executive of merseyflow, said: "We’re pleased to continue to sponsor Widnes Cricket Club as it continues its excellent work in engaging people of all ages with sport and bringing the community together.
"It’s important for us to support local teams so they can continue to support the local community with the much-needed health and wellbeing benefits sports can provide."
Merseyflow’s sponsorship over the years has allowed the first team to perform benefiting from the best possible facilities and helped the development of the highly successful women's team.
Andy Atkin, chair of Widnes Cricket Club, said: "We are delighted with merseyflow’s continued support.
"The funding we receive really helps with providing us with the essential equipment needed for all of our teams to continue playing and representing Widnes at the highest level possible."
Widnes Cricket Club has been forging close community links since it was established in 1865 and today the Club is focused on providing the very best facilities to encourage local youngsters to get involved in the sport.
Merseyflow’s wider community support programme includes supporting many local junior sports clubs in Halton, along with continued support for merseyflow’s adopted charity, Halton Haven Hospice.
