It’s a bigger, more suitable building with a dedicated bloods room, scan room, changing room, and a private family room for when parents need a little quiet time.

No, I’m originally from Warrington but moved here in 2006.

Tell me a bit about your business.

We are an award-winning, family-run business based in Widnes and Crewe.

We offer a private ultrasound clinic for pregnant women.

We do 2D/3D/4D scans for all stages of pregnancy.

We employ 8 members of staff across both sites, all of whom have kids of their own.

What do you do? What services do you provide?

We can do a full range of scans from early reassurance, early gender, and then 3D/4D bonding scans to really be able to take a look at what the baby will look like when they are born.

We also do a full range of blood tests for men and women, including gender bloods from 6 weeks pregnant!

The business has seen plenty of success (Image: Supplied)

This is quite a new thing in the UK, but people want to find out and get prepared.

Gender reveals are still really popular, and people love that they can find out so early.

Why did you decide to open your own business?

We wanted to be able to offer valuable private scans with good customer care.

What’s your business background?

My background is customer care, and my husband is an IT geek, so together we work really well.

We've both run our own businesses before, and I was with my Dad on Widnes market from the age of 12, so I think owning my own business is in my blood.

Why this type of business?

It was just something different, and meant that we could really showcase our skills.

What makes your business different from others in the same area/field? What sets your business apart from your competitors?

My husband is always working on something to streamline the IT side of things or make us stand out from the competitors.

We were the first clinic to be able to offer all pictures on our online locker instead of a USB, which could be misplaced, and during COVID, he developed the UK's first streaming service for clinics like ours, so when we were able to re-open friends and family could watch from their home.

We even had people watching in Singapore and Australia.

We also only employ HCPC-registered sonographers and qualified phlebotomists, which means our patients receive the best care, as they know they are in good hands.

Because of this, we have a good relationship with the local NHS hospitals and even Leighton in Crewe.

Why do loyal customers return to your business?

Because of the care we give them, each and every person is treated like a friend; our sonographers really care and make sure the experience is second to none.

At the hospital its very clinical and you don’t get time to see everything or take friends and family with you.

Scans are incredibly detailed (Image: Supplied)

We spend time with the patients answering questions and showing them things they wouldn’t normally see, like tiny toes.

We've had 27 people in our scan room and four generations.

It's great to see everyone come together to celebrate new life.

Your Baby Scan is a finalist in the Halton Business Awards (Image: Supplied)

It's such a special time, and we love being able to share that time.

What’s next? What do the next few months hold for you and your business?

We’ve made it to the finalist list for the Halton Business Awards, so we are really looking forward to this night.

It’s a great way to network with other local businesses and celebrate our achievements, and then in July, we celebrate our 11th year of opening - we always like to do something special too.
