HALTON is not included in the name of the town's new health services which launch next week.
As previously reported, Warrington and Halton Hospital and the community teams of Bridgewater Community Healthcare are being teamed up from Wednesday, April 1.
And the new organisation has confirmed the trust will officially change its name to North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust.
A spokesperson said the new organisation, with a 6,500-strong workforce will 'deliver more joined up care and make things better for patients, their families and staff'.
Nikhil Khashu, joint chief executive for Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals and Bridgewater Community Healthcare, said: “We are pleased to share this exciting update in our journey to bring our hospital and community services together.
"This milestone marks a new chapter for healthcare in Warrington and Halton, and together we will transform and strengthen our healthcare services over the months and years ahead to provide exceptional care.”
The spokesperson added: "While the organisation’s name is changing, there will be no immediate changes to the range of services and care provided. For patients and service users, this means you will continue to receive the same care and treatment, with the same medical team, in the same place.
"All hospital building and community site names, addresses and contact details will remain the same, meaning you will be able to contact staff and teams as normal."
Over time, new and improved ways of working will transform clinical services and provide care that is convenient, easily accessible and aligned with the Government’s 10 Year Health Plan for England.
