A TEENAGER has taken centre stage at one of the world’s biggest dance events.
Seventeen-year-old Bella Prior from Runcorn performed in a commercial contemporary jazz routine on the main stage at London’s Move It convention, held at London Excel from March 20 to 22.
Move It is the world’s largest dance event and attracts more than 30,000 dancers and industry professionals each year.
Ms Prior said: "It was amazing to perform at Move It.
"We all put a lot of effort into perfecting our routine and our hard work really paid off."
She is currently training at Liverpool Theatre School, and performed with fellow students in a routine choreographed by the school’s award-winning choreographer, Dane Bates, a tutor at the school.
Maxine Ellis, principal of Liverpool Theatre School, said: "Performing on the main stage at Move It is an incredible experience for our students.
"We’re so proud to see them showcase their talent on such a big stage."
Move It features professional auditions, competitions, and masterclasses led by top choreographers and tutors.
The event covers a wide range of styles including commercial, contemporary, ballet, and hip hop.
This year’s lineup included renowned choreographer Brian Friedman—known for his work with Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and One Direction.
Also featured was Christie Lee Manning, whose credits include Wicked, and Great Expectations.
Past students have gone on to perform in West End shows and national tours including Mamma Mia!, Oliver!, SIX, Blood Brothers, and Wicked, with many also working as professional dancers and choreographers.
The school is currently holding auditions for its next intake of students for full-time professional training in dance and musical theatre.
Fully funded places and bursaries are available to support talented young people from all backgrounds.
Liverpool Theatre School was founded more than 85 years ago and is one of the city’s longest-running performing arts institutions.
Its patrons include the celebrated dancer Wayne Sleep OBE and musical theatre star Anita Dobson.
The school also runs a Junior Academy offering training to under-16s interested in the performing arts.
