A FOOTBALLER has issued an update from Whiston Hospital after undergoing surgery on a horrific injury during the Champions League clash between Galatasaray and Liverpool.
Noa Lang appeared to injure his hand on advertising hoardings in last night's match at Anfield.
This required him needing oxygen before he was taken off the pitch on a stretcher and to accident and emergency at Whiston Hospital.
The 26-year-old has posted an update on Instagram from the hospital. He wrote on his story: "Surgery went well. Thanks for all the messages."
His initial post was captioned "S*** happens” and showed two medical staff alongside him as he lay on a hospital bed in Whiston.
So far 665,000 people have liked the post.
Speaking after the game, Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk said. “He is going to the hospital because of the important issue he has with his finger.”
