Inquest opened into death of man, 45, well known in Runcorn

Russell Isherwood was sadly found dead at his home address on Eastford Road, Lower Walton on January 14, a coroners court heard.

This was after 'concerns were raised' for the 45-year-old when 'friends could not contact him'.

It was heard that there was a 'unnatural cause of death' which is why an inquest was opened at Cheshire Coroners Court last Wednesday.

Senior coroner for Cheshire Jacqueline Devonish formerly opened the inquest and adjourned it for a hearing to take place on June 24.

Following the sad news of Mr Isherwood's death, a Go Fund Me page has been set up to raise money to help fund a funeral for the fitness enthusiast who was a well-known figure throughout Warrington and Widnes.

The creator of the funding page, which has so far raised an incredible £5,800, described Russell as a 'true legend' at Body FX gym, based in Runcorn.

In a touching tribute, they said: "An absolute beast of a man, full of great energy, a genuinely good person, very kind, very talented in what ever he did.

"Always there for anyone who needed him, and a fantastic ambassador for Body FX.

"He spent so much of his time there, pushing himself for growth and inspiring others—including myself—to strive to be better.

They continued: "I’m sure many of you have countless great memories and stories from your time with Russ. Don’t we all.

"I hope we can all share them as we pay our respects in the near future."

The funding page was set up to 'cover a big cost or all of the funeral costs', they said, to help Mr Isherwood's family, 'as they come to terms with this huge loss'.

A fundraising bucket has also been stationed outside Body FX in Runcorn.
