A SWMMING club enjoyed a sensational medal tally at a regional competition.
Halton Swimming Club, based at Halton Leisure Centre on Moor Lane, achieved amazing success at the Cheshire County Swimming Championships, held at Macclesfield Leisure Centre.
The club was awarded 'the Most Improved Age Group Club in Cheshire.'
Junior swimmer Anthony Wawrzyniak, making a splash in the competition, achieved first place in the 'Cheshire County Overall Age Group Awards' for male swimmers aged 10/11 years.
His placement was based on points earned across the Championships.
Mr Wawrzyniak clinched 13 gold medals, an impressive feat considering he entered just 13 events.
Another club member, Mack Houghton, earned a gold medal in the 50m Breaststroke event, securing the Cheshire Open Championship Title in that discipline due to his winning time.
The club had a total of 30 medals overall, including 14 gold age group winners medals, dominated by Wawrzyniak, who claimed golds in various disciplines, including 50m, 100m, and 200m breaststroke, 50m, 100m, and 200m freestyle, 50m, and 100m butterfly, 50m, 100m, and 200m backstroke, and both 100m and 200m individual medley.
