INQUESTS are now open into the deaths of two motorcyclists who were involved in a crash at a circuit in Cheshire.
Owen Jenner and Shane Richardson were among 11 men who were involved in the crash at Oulton Park on May 5.
Mr Jenner, 21, of Crowborough, East Sussex, was declared dead at the scene and Mr Richardson, 29, of Nuneaton, Warwickshire, was declared dead in an ambulance in Winsford.
The cause of their deaths is not determined but Mr Jenner had serious head injuries and Mr Richardson had serious chest injuries according to organisers Motor Sport Vision Racing.
Inquests are now open into their deaths after back-to-back hearings at Cheshire Coroner's Court today, Wednesday.
Elizabeth Wheeler, the assistant coroner, adjourned the hearings which are to be heard on the same day on January 13.
In both cases she said: "I have reason to suspect the cause of death is unnatural and I open an inquest into the death."
A third motorcyclist, Tom Tunstall, was taken to hospital although the 47-year-old was said to be stable the next day.
There were five men with minor injuries who were not taken to hospital and there were three men with no injuries from the 'chain reaction incident' which was on the first corner of the first lap of a race in the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship.
At the time a Motor Sport Vision Racing spokesperson said: "The Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board and Motor Sport Vision Racing are investigating the full circumstances of the incident in conjunction with the coroner and Cheshire Constabulary."
