TWO fire engines were dispatched to the scene of a house fire this morning, Friday.
Crews from Runcorn and Widnes fire stations rushed to Lockgate East in Runcorn.
It comes after Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a house fire at around 11.15am.
A fire in a store room was put out by firefighters in breathing apparatus who were able to contain the fire in that area.
The loft spaces of the property, and of neighbouring properties, were checked and there was no fire spread.
Smoke was then cleared using a high-pressure fan.
A fire service spokesman said: “Following an investigation, the cause of the fire is believed to be an overheated light fitting.”
