THE services of firefighters were required following a house fire in Widnes.
Two fire engines from Widnes and Penketh fire stations were dispatched to Black Denton's Place yesterday afternoon, Sunday.
This came after Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a house fire at around 2.39pm.
On arrival at the scene, crews discovered that the fire involved an oven.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put out the fire.
A fire service spokesman confirmed: “There were no reported casualties.”
