THE service of firefighters was required after a fire broke out in a kitchen.
Two fire engines from Widnes and Runcorn fire stations rushed to Lynn Close in Runcorn yesterday evening, Saturday.
This came after Cheshire Fire and Rescue received reports of a kitchen fire in a property at around 6.20pm.
The fire was extinguished with a water jet by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, before a large fan was used to remove smoke from the property.
Later that evening, the crew from Runcorn Fire Station was also deployed to tackle a bin fire.
A fire engine was dispatched to Townfield Lane at around 9.15pm.
A fire service spokesman said: “A fire in a litter bin was put out with water from a backpack by firefighters.”
