RESIDENTS are being asked to name a new apartment block in Warrington with the winner receiving £100.

The new retirement apartments will be built on the site of a former pub described as a ‘landmark’, The Sportsman Arms.

It comes after plans for the development, which consists of 56 one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, on Warrington Road were approved earlier this year, with construction expected to commence soon.

The new apartments will provide attractive, high quality, secure and self-contained accommodation designed to enable independence, freedom and low maintenance living for local over 60s.

Owners will enjoy independent living and a sense of community, with a communal Owners’ Lounge, a Guest Suite, a Lodge Manager, and a 24 hour emergency call alarm service.

Churchill Retirement Living has now called upon locals to name the new independent living retirement development.

It has launched a competition, inviting residents to come up with a name for the new apartment block.

The winner will receiving £100 and the winning name will appear on the development itself, as well as branding, sales, and marketing materials.

The competition closing date is May 31.

Keep in mind that Churchill Retirement Living development names always end in ‘Lodge’.

If more than one person suggests the winning name, the winner will be randomly selected. The chosen name is subject to approval by Warrington Borough Council.
