FIREFIGHTERS say a blaze in woodland in Runcorn Heath was ‘started deliberately'.
One fire engine from Runcorn rushed to woodland off Highland Road after a call at 20.33pm on Saturday, April 20.
Fire crews arrived on scene to find a fire of around one metre square, which they were able to extinguish using buckets.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews used buckets of water to put out a small fire covering an area of about a square metre in woodland.
“The fire was set deliberately. Anyone with information should call Cheshire Police on 101.”
