A PAEDOPHILE who previously attempted to groom children on video games and who also made sexual comments about a toddler has been jailed again.

Back in 2020, Adam Syers, now of Holiday Inn, Runcorn was handed a suspended prison sentence after filming a toddler from the window of his then home on Poplars Avenue in Orford and making vile comments of a sexual nature.

But that same day he was spared jail, his offending escalated as he began to contact children he had met while playing video games such as Fortnite and Roblox online on his Xbox – which he had been barred from doing by a sexual harm prevention order.

This time he was locked up and was handed a prison sentence of two years and three months back in 2021.

As a result of his offending, he was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and notification requirements. One of the conditions of the SHPO was that he must not delete his internet history.

Syers, who has autism, has since breached both orders a number of times, including in January.

The 26-year-old appeared before Chester Crown Court at the end of last month after pleading guilty to breaching a SHPO.

The court heard how Syers called the police on January 23 to report the breach. He told officers that he had accidentally deleted his search history and that he ne needed to be arrested or he may hurt himself.

Police arrested the defendant and searched his Samsung phone where they could see that he had deleted his internet history around an hour before.

Chester Crown Court was told how Syers said he had clicked a button that he did not realise would clear his browsing history.

Syers was handed a four-month prison sentence for breaching the order.
