THE Silver Jubilee Bridge will be closed this afternoon from Widnes to Runcorn.
Halton Council have warned commuters that the regularly used bridge will not be accessible ‘later this afternoon’, Wednesday.
Motorists are urged to use the Mersey Gateway and traffic management will be removed to ‘allow northbound traffic to flow freely’.
The closure will be in place until current work on the Mersey Gateway is completed.
A spokesperson from Halton Council reported on X: “Silver Jubilee Bridge will be closed to traffic from Widnes to Runcorn later this afternoon.
“Please use Mersey Gateway. Traffic management will be removed to allow northbound traffic to flow freely.
“This will be in place until the current work on Mersey Gateway is completed.”
