The council has clarified that Tontine multi-storey car park will also be free and open until 6pm for matchday parking. Pedestrian entry and exit will be via the back stairs after 4.30pm when the shopping centre closes.
The council has also urged people to park "legally, safely and conscientiously" in the wake of concerns over dangerous parking on the pavements and grass verges at Peasley Cross Lane on matchdays.
A St Helens Borough Council spokesperson said: "We would always urge motorists to park legally, safely and conscientiously, allowing for uninhibited access to household driveways and the passage of emergency vehicles.
"And please note that the offer of free parking does not apply to the World of Glass, which is privately operated."
