POLICE have been busy locating truant schoolchildren across the town this week.
In a Facebook post, Daresbury and Windmill Hill Police revealed that officers have been taking part in operation checks throughout the area.
This involves visiting schools and working with safeguarding staff to identify youths who are not attending school.
They have also been attending homes, speaking to parents, and ensuring that ongoing safeguarding is in place for the children.
The operation will run throughout the week at various schools.
On the first day, officers identified several truant children. They were all brought back to school and safeguarded.
Officers will be providing updates on the operation throughout the week.
