NO further action will be taken against a Widnes man after prosecutors dropped charges against him following a drug raid in January.
Dean Benson was charged with supplying class B drugs after officers from Cheshire Police arrested six people on Tan House Lane on suspicion of drug offences.
However the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges at a court hearing last month and he will face no further action.
A spokesperson for CPS Mersey Cheshire, said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has a duty to keep all cases under continuing review. As a result, a decision was taken to drop the charge against Dean Benson as there was insufficient evidence at this stage and our legal test was no longer met.”
Mr Benson is now considering taking legal action for wrongful arrest.
