A COMEDY night is taking place in Runcorn to raise funds for Halton Haven Hospice.

With less than half of the hospice’s £2.5 million annual running costs coming from government funding, it is hugely reliant on the support of the community to stay open and to continue caring for those who need specialist case.

So this year, Halton Haven has again partnered with the award-winning Giggle Shack to organise an evening of comedy which will be sponsored by Carol Smith Mortgages.

Giggle Shack promoter and comedian Colin Havey said: “Join us for a great night of live comedy in aid of the fabulous Halton Haven Hospice as The Giggle Shack presents three of the best acts on the UK Comedy Circuit.

“The hilarious Martin Mor, tour support for Frankie Boyle will open the show.

“In the middle is the likeable, relatable, and absolutely hilarious Howard Walker.

“Finally, Duncan Oakley, who will provide an infectious mix of musical comedy and stand up will close the show in style.”

The charity has a full calenda of events for the year ahead for the community to get involved with and support the hospice in raising vital funds.

Fundraising manager at Halton Haven Hospice Tina Gill said: “We are thrilled to have partnered with Giggle Shack and Halton Royal British Legion again.

“Last year’s event was fantastic fun and helped raise vital funds for Halton Haven.

“We love to bring our amazing supporters something different, this is not to be missed.

“Ticket numbers are limited so please do get booked and enjoy a great night out while also supporting your local hospice.”

The comedy evening will take place at Halton Royal British Legion on March 8. Doors will open from 7pm and the show will start at 8pm.

Tickets are £12 and are available here: https://HaltonHavenComedyNight.eventbrite.co.uk
